This is a free tool to allow WMV movie files to be accurately tagged so that the Zune, Xbox 360 and other Windows software will display the correct information on the computer and the devices themselves.
Why?
I primarily use the Microsoft Zune software to manage my media as it is, quite simply, the best in it's class; regardless of whether you own a Zune or not.
Well, as powerful as the Zune software is, it has a blind-spot when it comes to tagging movies properly. Why go to all the trouble of allowing film information to be displayed and then making it virtually impossible to get that information into the file itself.
The Zune software has no facilities to do this and any tools that do/did exist on the Internet either don't work or are not supported any more.
With a few clicks, any WMV file can now be properly tagged and will be instantly updated in the Zune player and other devices such as the Xbox 360 and Windows Media Center. Features
- Works with all versions of the Zune
- No need for Zune software to be installed
- Works as a WMV tag editor even if Zune is not used at all
- Clean install and remove
- No dependencies other than .NET
- Amazon integration
- Movie thumbnail
- Tiny footprint
- Free!
System Requirements
- Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003; Windows Server 2008; Windows Vista; Windows XP; Windows 7
- Supports both x86 & x64 platforms
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
Development
I developed ZuneTag because I wanted this functionality for myself and couldn't find a simple free utility that worked for me.
At the moment, ZuneTag is free and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. If you are of the nature where you feel you would like to contribute to the ongoing development of the software then you can kindly Donate.
The version available here is extremely young & immature. I fully expect it to be buggy and I reserve the right to upload new versions as and when I fix issues or add new functionality. Updates will be posted in the Blog. Warranty
This is a free program, you may download it and use it without any implied warranty whatsoever. |
